Equipment Sponsors

Just a quick blog to detail my equipment sponsors for my Mount Everest expedition in 2012. These sponsors have very kindly donated equipment to my expedition. I am very grateful for their support, especially as most expeditions in this day and age are reliant on their sponsors, and my expedition is no different. I hope to develop lasting relationships with these companies, and aim to give feedback from my experiences of equipment, in the extreme conditions faced on Everest, that push equipment, and it’s users to the limit.

Osprey designs and manufactures some of the best rucksacks available. Making packs for activities as diverse as trekking to expeditions in exceptional quality, the packs are seen more and more on the UK hills and in Europe. Their rucksacks are packed with functional features, having been designed by climbers, for climbers.  My personal experiences with the Mutant 38 are exceptional, and rate it as one of the most functional, versatile and underrated packs available for climbing.

Tents, Camping Equipment, Waterproof Jackets, Outdoor Clothing and more available online and in store.  Go Outdoors sells equipment by some of the best outdoor manufacturers, such as Rab, Black Diamond, Petzl and Mountain Equipment.

Trekmates is one of the UK’s leading companies in outdoor clothing and accessories.  Trekmates, even though producing equipment at low prices, use some of the most technical fabrics on the market, such as GORE-TEX, Gore WINDSTOPPER, PrimaLoft, Polartec, and Merino Wool. Their Merino Wool range caught the eye of the TGO editors, who placed it as one of their favourite and recommended products.

AMG, home of Vango and Force Ten, is a name synonymous with the outdoors. They have recently stepped up their Force Ten range, a range of tents designed to withstand some of the harshest conditions, in particularly, high winds. They also make expedition quality equipment in other lines such as their sleeping bags, headed up by the Viper range, previously used on a successful Everest expedition.
